Account Holders can only register NC-RETS projects if they have an approved NC-RETS account. All newly registered projects will remain in a Pending status until they are reviewed and approved by the NC-RETS Administrator. The following information outlines the steps required to register a project in your North Carolina Renewable Energy Tracking System (NC-RETS) account.
To register a Generating Unit Facility as a Project, the owner or the Responsible Party must:
- Have submitted an application that has been approved by the North Carolina Utilities Commission, pursuant to the Commission’s Rule R8-66.
- Have an approved account in NC-RETS
- Submit a completed online project registration form containing information related to the characteristics of the generating unit
